Blog Entry: Second place!!!! That matches Jr.'s best finish ever at Las Vegas. But again, this week, like Daytona, Jr.'s car just didn't seem to have the horses to keep up with the lead car.
Jr.'s strong finish has propelled him into 10th place in the NSC standings, 130 points behind Cousin Carl. Can you believe he has already won more than $900,000 this year? Dang, I am in the wrong business.
Is there a potential problem with the Hendrick program this year? After all, JJ wrecked at Daytona and had a old junker on the track this week. Gordon broke his car and then played demolition derby with Kenseth Sunday. Mears.......well, he just needs a little more talent, so we can disregard anything that goes on with his car.
Speaking of Gordon.....wasn't that delightfully dumb-assed of him on Sunday? But that was one hard hit on the inside wall. For all of the dislike most of us have for him, you have to admit, it is a good thing he wasn't seriously hurt. After all, who would we hate?
Atlanta is one of Jr.s better tracks. He has garnished a win, 3 third place finishes and total of 5 top-10's between the spring and fall races over the last 5 years. His win was in the spring race of 2004. Now, if only HMS can find a little extra horsepower to propel Jr. to another Atlanta win this coming week.
