Red Bull Racing announced yesterday that Mike Skiner will "temporarily" replace A.J. Allmendinger in the #84 Red Bull Toyota. Skinner has 246 starts in his NCs career, with 10 top-5's and 39 top-10's. He also drives the #5 truck for Bill Davis racing in the NCTS, and is currently 16th in the points in that division. Allmendinger is taking his replacement in the #84 quite diplomatically. Saying this is a chance for him to learn from Skinner, and help the team improve. Allmendinger is in his second year of NSC competition, after leaving the Champ Car Series to drive for Red Bull Racing. The jump to NASCAR's top series, so far, has seemed a little much for the 25 year old driver from Los Gatos, CA.
